Tasos Rosopoulos

Tasos Rossopoulos was born in Athens in 1974. Alongside his studies in Surveying Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, he studied classical guitar, advanced music theory, music for theatre and cinema, jazz theory, and improvisation.

Since 2003, he has collaborated extensively with the Third Programme and the Radio Directorate of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) in programming and artistic planning. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Director of the ERT Music Ensembles, which include the National Symphony Orchestra, the Contemporary Music Orchestra, and the Choir. Since May 2024, he has been Director of the Third Programme.

Recent presentations of his works include the music for *Trisevgéni*, the symphonic poem *Pan Ho Megas Tethnike* commissioned by the Athens State Orchestra, the opera *Wax Doll* commissioned by the Greek National Opera, the orchestral work *The Visit* for orchestra and mezzo-soprano, five musical fairy tales for narrator and orchestra, the song cycles *False Suns*, *The Pure and the One*, and the chamber works *Matsarangkes* and *Popular Knights*, commissioned by To Elliniko Schedio and the Onassis Foundation Stegi.
