Maira Milolidaki is a soprano and Associate Professor of Voice and Speech at the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences of The American College of Greece (Deree). She collaborates with the University of Macedonia in Lifelong Learning Programs and is responsible for printed programs for the Olympia Municipal Music Theatre “Maria Callas.” She also collaborates with the publications department and the educational programs and lectures department of the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis) and works as a radio producer for the Third Programme of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation.
As a soloist, she has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek National Opera, the Onassis Stegi, Olympia Theatre, the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Teatro dal Verme (Milan), Carnegie Hall, Le Frank Concert Hall (New York), the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, Poreia Theatre, and the Theatre of the Street of Cyclades – Lefteris Vogiatzis, among others, performing a broad repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary classical composers. She is a member of the Music Theatre Group EUTOPIA and collaborates with the international contemporary composers’ group THE COLLECTIVE. She has performed with major Greek and international orchestras and chamber ensembles and appears regularly in Greek and international festivals. She has also appeared in films by director Nikos Kornilios and has participated in recordings of works by G. Kouroupos, I. Valetas, Constantine Skourlis, the baroque ensemble Canto Soave, among others.
She graduated with highest honors in classical singing from the Athens Conservatoire. As a scholar of the Onassis Foundation, she pursued advanced studies in Italy with Renata Scotto and Maria Luisa Cioni. She also studied theatre at the Empros Drama School and at Theodoros Terzopoulos’ International Workshop. In addition, she holds a PhD in Linguistics from the Sorbonne and is a graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
